The plan of God

Eph 2:10

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

 

Devotional

God has a plan for our lives. That plan includes doing good works. The bible says, in the book of Acts chapter 10 verse 38,  that Jesus went about doing good and healing all...This was the plan for Jesus' life,  and  it is the plan for our life as well.  Jesus healed many people everywhere he went and taught  them how to live a victorious life. When we surrender our lives totally to Christ we begin to step into the plan God has for our lives. We then can discover the good works that God has prepared in advance for us to do.  A friend of mine once said, “God is serious about his business.” Doing good and filling heaven is God’s business.  So being Christ like, we should also be about the Father’s   business

WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT?

(Taken from papers written by a class of 8-year-olds)   .Grandparents are a lady and a man who like other people's little children.   .A grandfather is a man, & a grandmother is a lady!   .Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them… They are old so they shouldn't play hard or run. It's good if they drive us to the shops and give us money.   .When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leaves and caterpillars.   .They show us and talk to us about the colors of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on cracks.'   .They don't say, 'Hurry up.'   .Usually grandmothers are fat but not too fat to tie your shoes. .They wear glasses and funny underwear.   .They can take their teeth and gums out.   .Grandparents have to be smart. They have to answer questions like 'Why isn't God married?' and 'How come dogs chase cats?'   .When they read to us, they don't skip. They don't mind if we ask for the same story over again.   .Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you don't have television because they are the only grownups who like to spend time with us.   They know we should have a snack time before bed time, and they say prayers with us and kiss us even when we've acted bad.   GRANDMA'S & GRANDPA'S ARE THE SMARTEST ON EARTH! THEY TEACH ME GOOD THINGS, BUT I DON'T GET TO SEE THEM ENOUGH TO GET AS SMART !   .It's funny when they bend over; you hear gas leaks, and they blame their dog.   LOLOL

Recently I was reflecting on a dream that a friend of mine told me about. In the dream there was a   man who was physically fit, and in the military. He was about to enter into flight training that would eventually promote him to a higher ranking as a pilot. His challenge would be to fly the airplane by using the instrumentation and gauges only, with no visual view of his outer surroundings. I consulted a good friend who is a pilot, about this dream. She said that during this type of training, an up close and personal relationship is established between the instructor and student. The ultimate goal is to condition the pilot to be able to handle all types of flying conditions by putting their trust in the instruments at hand. The bible says to walk by faith and not by sight. The plane can be compared to Gods kingdom; in that God has provided us with every instrument that we need to get us through all types of circumstances, even when we can't see where we are going. We must maintain a close and personal relationship with God, so that if we encounter difficulty we will be familiar with his voice, able to hear and trust his direction. Once we learn to use the instruments in the kingdom; such as, seeking God first, loving one another, reading Gods word, worship, prayer, hearing his voice and fellowship, these are   just a few, we then can be promoted to being trusted with more powerful weapons. The bigger the plane is the more people you can carry, while you fly higher and further. God wants to entrust you to effect more people. Challenge yourself to fly a bigger plane in God’s kingdom; you can do this by learning how to use your spiritual instruments.

Apologize

I recently heard a song that my nephew played for me on his I-Pod…it is a current popular song and the title is “Apologize”.  The lyrics go on to say over and over throughout the song:

“It’s too late to apologize, it’s too late.  I said it’s too late to apologize, it’s too late, I said it’s too late to apologize, yeah yeah I said it’s too late to apologize, a yeah”

This made me sad because I recently had to apologize to someone that I love very much, and when I heard the words to that song my heart dropped as I felt my eyes tear up and a chocking heart ach feeling began in my throat.  You could say my heart hurt, but then I began to think about what the Bible says about Apologizing and what it really means.

Isn’t that what we do when we come to God…we apologize (repent of our sins).  What does the scripture tell us? 

In 1^st John 1:9 the Bible declares:

 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness. 

Another scripture that came to mind is found in Matthew 5:24 regarding the reality of having ought against your brother or your brother against you.  Verse 24 says:

 “Leave there thy gift at the alter, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift”.

One more thought provoking passage in Matthew 18: 21-22 says it like this: 

Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee,

Until seven times; but, until seventy times seven”.

It is important to remember “That’s just a man made song”, and it’s not too late to apologize when I need to, and Lord willing, my freiends WILL forgive me.

In fact it is always important to listen to the words of songs and ask yourself if they are in line with what you are learning when you read the Bible, in Sunday School or in your youth group. If they don't measure up then do not believe the song.

  Summer has comc to an end, the Fall season is here already. Fall is always a “refreshing time”;  it is a season of change, a season of revitalization, and preparation for the fresh start of new things to come. It is a season of crisp air, cool breezes, and clear skies.

This time of year for students, is often filled with anxiety of things ‘unknown’. New teachers, new friends, new schedules, new cities, new jobs, the list is endless. However, none of these things surprise God.

God is aware of all the changes taking place in the natural realm, as well as in your life. Just as nature yields itself to God’s wisdom, be encouraged and yield yourself to God’s perfect plan for you this season.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,

“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,

plans to give you hope and a future.”

(Jeremiah 29:11)

Be encouraged as you enter into this next season, be expecting God to show you new things, give you a fresh start; perhaps at school, with friends and family, with a job. Be encouraged to be yourself, don’t take hold of pressures others may be holding out there for you. Walk your journey, and watch yourself be transformed as God works in you and through you.

“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
 I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
(Isaiah 41:10)

God is with you where ever you are. Be expecting great things; what happened last year is over, what happened yesterday is over.  Today is a “Fresh Start.”

“What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

Being kind in this scripture is directly connected with forgiving others. Is there anyone in your life that you need to forgive, don’t let another day go by, get in touch with that person and show kindness by offering your forgiveness to them.

Some Christian Middle School Games

• You who are middle school students are learning so much during this time of your life. Many life lessons and habits form during your middle school years. You also enjoy more social interactions and personalize new experiences in a proper way. As you gain more independence, playing age-appropriate Christian games can reinforce what you are learning.Christian Knowledge
  
1. • Playing knowledge games allows you to be competitive and have a good time. Line up questions and life lines, you can play "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire in Heaven?" This works best for a small group of friends so everyone can participate. Have plenty of questions ready so that you can play. Jeopardy-style games can be played by any size group.
     
   • Friends will divide into teams to play. Have your categories on the board and questions on 4 X 6 cards.
     
   • Categories can be Women in the Bible, Miracles, Ten Commandments or even current music artists. The team with the most points at the end wins.
